Marsha Sproling, MSW, LCSW, TF-CBT Trained, EMDR Trained, RIST

Marsha Sproling is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who
provides therapy to adolescents and adults, using a client-
centered, eclectic approach tailored to the unique needs of each
client. Her preferred treatment approaches include Cognitive
Behavioral Therapy, Supportive therapy, EMDR, Integrative
Sandtray Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy. She
believes that change happens when people are given the support
needed to draw on their own strengths and realize their potential
to live a fulfilling, happy life.


Marsha has over 15 years experience in a variety of settings with
diverse clients providing both long term and brief interventions.
She has worked within the state juvenile justice system, multiple
psychiatric hospitals, day treatment setting, a contract therapist
for Little Rock School District, and several outpatient mental
health clinics, providing crisis services, intensive in-home
services, group counseling, family counseling and individual
counseling.


Her areas of expertise include: anxiety, depression, trauma,
attention deficit disorders, adults and teens with self-injurious
behaviors/behavior issues, phase of life changes, life stresses,
emotional regulation, problems in relationships, substance
abuse, psychosis, mood instability, cultural issues, grief and/or
unresolved losses, problems at school or work and low self-
esteem.


Marsha is a graduate of the University of Arkansas at Little
Rock where she received her Master’s Degree in Social Work.

She received her undergraduate degree in Social Work from
University of Arkansas at Little Rock. Marsha has also been
trained in the use of EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and
Reprocessing-an integrative psychotherapy approach that has
been extensively researched and proven effective for the
treatment of trauma. In addition, Marsha is a Registered
Integrative Sand Tray Therapist who believes the depth of
Sandtray therapy cannot be measured.

Sharika Sproling is a Licensed Processional Counselor in
Arkansas, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor in
Illinois. Sharika finds that an eclectic approach to therapy is
beneficial. She draws on a combination of Cognitive and Behavioral
Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Strengths-Based and
Solution-Focused Therapy, EMDR, and Sandtray Therapy
modalities when working with clients. Her intention through the
therapeutic process is to appropriately join and empower
her clients in identifying and clarifying their personal goals
while reframing their self-defeating beliefs, which may hinder
their well-being. She aims to assist her clients and their
families in making positive, lasting changes.


Sharika provides individual and family therapy specializing in
areas related to self-esteem, depression, cultural concerns,
unresolved loss, anxiety, life transitions, individual autonomy,
substance abuse, assertiveness training, boundary setting, teen
issues and parent/child dynamics.


Sharika has over 8 years of experience. Throughout her career, Sharika has worked successfully with adolescent and adult clients in a variety of settings. She has extensive experience working with adolescents and their families.


Sharika earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminology from
Arkansas State University- Jonesboro, her Master’s degree in
Rehabilitation Counseling from Arkansas State University-
Jonesboro and her PhD at Southern Illinois University in
Rehabilitation Counseling and Administration from Southern
Illinois University.
